Hosting your wedding in Barbados is a dream for many a marrying couple. The ultimate bucket list destination wedding location. A setting that Georgia and Gus managed to make feel personal, intimate, and chic for their big day. Using Fairmont Royal Pavilion as their backdrop, our newlyweds chose to honour the beauty of their wedding venue, and its location, by simply elevating its magic. Celebrating the natural palette all around them by opting for thoughtful, simple decor.

Georgia chose a stunning Justin Alexander wedding dress for the occasion, and its modern styling paired with delicate detailing matched the celebration perfectly.

How did you two meet?
We met through work. However, we technically went to pre-school together!
How did you get engaged?
We got engaged on our 5-year anniversary over afternoon tea in Lumley Castle! It was very romantic and a complete surprise.

What was your favourite moment(s) from the wedding?
It's hard to pick just one moment, as the entire day was perfect. But seeing each other for the first time while walking down the aisle was very special.
We decided to embrace the island culture and have live reggae/soca music performed during our reception evening, and it was so much fun! We loved seeing our family & friends enjoying the music as much as we do, we danced all night
Tell us all about your wedding dress!
My wedding dress was a dream, it was the first dress I ever tried on and I knew it was the one! I felt it was very unique and different to other wedding dresses I'd seen. It was perfect for the warm climate. I loved the embroidered top, and the long train looked incredible in our photos. It was so comfortable to wear & dance in - I felt so special in it. My only negative is that I can't wear it forever...!

What was the general decor for your big day?
We went with very simple decor as we felt the wedding venue & location was magical enough in itself. We chose soft colours to compliment the baby pink venue, with pops of green to compliment the palm trees.
Do you have any advice for future Bellissima Brides?
My advice would be to go with your gut when choosing your wedding dress, I knew mine was 'the one' the minute I saw myself in it. And on the day, just enjoy every single moment - it really does go by so fast!
Do you have any wedding suppliers in Barbados you would like to recommend?
Our wedding was made so special by everyone who had a part in it. We had the most incredible team;
Wedding photographer - Ana Paola
Wedding Venue - Fairmont Royal Pavilion
Makeup Artists - Brittany Tuleja
Hair Stylist - Maria O'Neil
DJ - DJ Teaze
Steel Pannist - Omar Haynes
Everyone involved helped make our day feel so special!
How was your Bellissima experience?
My Bellissima experience was wonderful, everyone I met was so friendly, helpful & accommodating. A special thank you to Danielle, Amelia & Rose who helped me choose, fit & prepare my wedding dress for travel to Barbados - I couldn't have been happier and can't thank you all enough :)
