YOUR BRIDAL ALTERATIONS

YOU’VE CHOSEN YOUR DRESS, HAD THE PREFIT – WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

If you choose our Platinum Service, you will be given the contact numbers for the in-house seamstresses at your pre-fit, so your fitting appointment will be booked directly between you and your chosen seamstress.

As these ladies are all self-employed and manage their own diaries and finances, all fittings enquiries, date changes, queries, complaints and payments must be made directly with or to them, and not through Bellissima Weddings.

*Disclaimer*

Bellissima Weddings is  NOT  responsible or to be held liable for any work which has been carried out by any of the self-employed seamstresses and which is deemed unacceptable for any reason.

In the extremely unlikely event that you are not happy with their work, or have any dispute or query, we ask you please to contact the seamstress directly for any resolution you require, including compensation or legal proceedings.

Please note that, should you wish to purchase accessories (veils, tiaras etc), you'll need to book a separate appointment with your bridal stylist (Tuesday to Friday), as your fitting appointment will be booked with a seamstress only.

The number of fittings varies from bride to bride. If your gown has been made to special measurements, and you've stayed the same shape, a single fitting may suffice. More often, a second, third or even fourth appointment is necessary, especially if your gown is a ‘standard’ dress size, and you are having multiple alterations. Providing your measurements don’t change, we only charge for the finished job, NOT the number of fittings.

As space is limited, please do not bring more than one guest to any fitting. During the pinning process, the guest will be asked to take a seat in the waiting area. Also, previous experience has taught us that pins, scissors and small children don’t mix… so we ask you not to bring small children to your fittings!

Each time you arrive for a fitting, you must remember to bring the shoes and underwear you will be wearing on the wedding day. The fitting cannot be carried out without them as they will naturally alter the fit of the gown. We will always be very clear and upfront about your alterations charges, and ask that you pay in cash on your final fitting, once the alterations have been signed off.

Our in-house self employed seamstresses work weekdays only, so please bear this in mind, and consider the fact that you may have to take a day or two off work when it comes to the time of your fittings. If Saturdays or evenings are the only time that you can manage, we have a list of fab bridal seamstresses who will be more than happy to see you at their own premises.

Please note that we do not offer our an in-house alteration service on our bridesmaids dresses at all. The same lovely seamstresses who will see our brides on evenings and weekends out of our shop should be able to alter your maids dresses as well, and we’ll gladly supply you with their details when you place your order, so that you can contact the ladies directly to book in.

After your final fitting, you may take your dress home, or arrange a later pickup date if that suits you better. Your gown will be consigned to you pressed and hanging, or travel boxed and pre-videoed and we'll require you, or your designated person to check over your gown thoroughly on the day it leaves our premises, as you or they will be signing a legally binding pick up form to say that you are happy with the condition and the fit of your gown.
