Leah & Dean's Real Wedding at The Priory Hall in Hadleigh, Suffolk

These guys put together a classic, yet contemporary wedding within the unique Tudor setting of The Priory Hall in Hadleigh.

Making an engagement memorable is not difficult. Both you and your partner will never forget the moment one, or both of you proposed. But making it unique, that's a different story. Do it at the top of the Eiffel Tower, for example, and you'll be jostling for position among all the other hopeful spouses down on one knee. Of course, there's nowhere more romantic than the city of love, but does its backdrop represent the two of you? Does a proposal there, or Niagara Falls, another hotspot, feel uniquely you? If not, maybe you should look a little closer to home. Which is precisely what Dean did when he proposed to Leah! We won't spoil the surprise, we'll let our bride share her proposal story herself. But suffice to say, it's very sweet. And the perfect start to their fairytale wedding at The Priory in Hadleigh, Suffolk, 'a few months later...'.

If you're currently searching for wedding venues in Suffolk, I'm sure Leah and Dean would recommend The Priory. A charming estate located on 22 acres of delightfully English countryside, complete with pretty gardens and a breathtaking Tudor house. It is a real getaway location, and such an enchanting place to tie the knot!

Our happy couple were blown away by how handsome the gardens were at The Priory, and knew from their first visit that not only was it 'the one', but also that their theme should be based around the venue itself. Swathes of honeysuckle, lavender, and wisteria all gifted them the perfect English country garden backdrop.

How did you two meet?

Dean and I met at a New Year's Eve party back when I was 14. We were friends through school, and have been together since the age of 16 (20 years this year)

How did you get engaged?

Dean proposed on our 10-year anniversary with our, then, 10-month-old son. He had ‘Mummy, will you marry Daddy?’ printed on his sleep suit.

What was your favourite moment(s) from the wedding?

Just spending the day with our most special people, and finally becoming Mrs Slator, after 2 years of postponing due to Covid-19.

Tell us all about your wedding dress. What details do you love, how did it make you feel?

My Enzoani wedding dress was just beautiful! I felt like a true princess and couldn’t believe how comfortable it was. You actually chose my dress for me, and I am truly grateful, as I don’t think I would have picked it otherwise.

What was the general decor for your big day?

We got married at Priory Hall in Hadleigh, Suffolk. The venue is surrounded by beautiful flowers and gardens, so we went for a natural, English garden theme. Neither myself nor my husband are over the top, so this was perfect for us. The beautiful gardens were completed perfectly by our florist, Garland Blooms, who really managed to capture that classic countryside feel in our bouquets and arrangements.

Do you have any advice for future Bellissima Brides?

Just enjoy the day. Do and have what you want, not what is expected!

How was your Bellissima experience?

My Bellissima experience was just amazing, from start to finish. The staff are wonderful, so helpful and just lovely people. The lady who did my alterations was incredibly attentive and made my dress fit like a glove! She is so skilled at what she does.
