Warm peach tones, custom lace modifications, and light-filled barn venue aesthetic.
Set against the light-filled, timber-framed barns of Blake Hall, Kirsten and Lewis’s Essex wedding masterfully blended countryside warmth with an artfully curated colour palette. Combining soft champagne, nude, and burnt peach floral arrangements alongside pops of blue, their visual styling brought an airy, rustic-whimsical energy to every corner of the big day.
Their wedding journey began with a casual introduction in Chelmsford that quickly turned into an enduring partnership, culminating in a quiet, coastal engagement alongside their dog on Holkham Beach. When planning their wedding, the focus remained on surrounding themselves with love, laughter, and a standout team of local creative talent.
For her bridal vision, Kirsten had her eye on a Blue by Enzoani wedding dress before ever stepping into our boutique. The moment she tried it on, the intricate lace, delicate sequin shimmer, and that dramatic train proved to be an exact match. To elevate the gown into something truly special, the Bellissima alterations team worked their magic behind the scenes and crafted custom detachable sleeves to give Kirsten effortless movement alongside a bespoke line of lace across the back.

Kirsten's Real Wedding Q&A
1. How did you two meet?
We met at a CrossFit gym in Chelmsford. Lewis had just moved into the area for work, and this was his first session at his new gym. I introduced myself, and we got chatting!
2. How did you get engaged?
Lewis proposed on our favourite beach in Norfolk, Holkham Beach, during a weekend away with our dog.
3. What was your favourite moment(s) from the wedding?
Walking down the aisle and seeing everyone we love smiling at me as I walked and then seeing Lewis waiting for me. The ceremony was our favourite bit!

4. Tell us all about your wedding dress. What details do you love? How did it make you feel?
I loved my wedding dress from the minute I saw it online and even more when I tried it on as the first dress I ever tried! I knew I wanted something a bit different and felt the sleeves and back of the dress really made it stand out. The lace is absolutely stunning, with so much detail and a little bit of sparkle from the subtle sequins. Oh and the long train was just dreamy!
I love every part of my wedding dress, from the shape at the front to the fit to the beautiful train! Dale also detached the sleeves for me so I had full movement, and he also added a little line of lace to the top of the back, making it truly a one-of-a-kind dress.
5. What was the general decor for your big day?
I’ve been told it’s rustic-whimsical-chic! The venue has two beautiful barns with exposed beams and plenty of light, and it's set in the countryside. We had champagne and burnt-peach bridesmaids' dresses, champagne, nude and burnt-peach flowers with colour pops of blue to match the groomsmen's suits.

6. Do you have any advice for future Bellissima Brides?
Enjoy every part of the wedding planning experience; you only get to do it once. Choose your suppliers wisely; they have such an impact on your big day! We had the most amazing team of suppliers, and it really did make all the difference.
Invest in your photographer; you spend more time with them than you do anyone else on the day! Book a content creator! Content creators are new to the wedding scene, but having video snippets of the day has been invaluable.

7. Do you have any local suppliers you would like to recommend? A florist? Venue? DJ?

8. How was your Bellissima Weddings experience?
My experience with Bellissima Weddings was magical! Being able to pick my top 10 dresses before my appointment was so helpful, as it gave me the opportunity to work out what I liked in advance but also try on totally different styles on the day because when else can you try on so many beautiful princess dresses?!
My first appointment at Bellissima was so special. The rooms are beautifully put together, and my stylist Danielle listened to all my thoughts, likes and dislikes and really made the entire experience so enjoyable. During my appointment Dale actually came down to discuss whether it would be possible to make the sleeves of the dress detachable and even drew me a sketch of what it would look like, which I’ve still got!
I chose to be a VIP bride so that Dale and the team would be working on my wedding dress. The fitting appointments were so much fun, and I was made to feel truly 'bridal' in every one! Dale listened to every tiny concern I had and made sure my dress was perfect. I couldn’t believe the workmanship that went into my dress and how perfectly it fitted.
My dress made me feel so beautiful on the day, and that’s down to the team at Bellissima Weddings. Thank you so much!
