Today we're sharing the beautiful pictures from our Bellissima bride Mairi's wedding, and a little more about their special day.
We can't tell you how warm inside it makes us feel to receive your real wedding pictures! It makes every early start, frantic fashion fix and steamy steaming session all worthwhile. Because you all look so blissfully happy, and stunning in your gowns. And today is no exception. Because we're delighted to be sharing the real wedding of Mairi and Jake! A sweet couple who tied the knot this year.
Mairi recently sent in the pictures of her big day, and we thought why not ask her a few questions about the wedding, and her gown.
Mairi & Jake: The Real Wedding
1. Where did you two meet?
In London
2. How did you get engaged?
Under the wheel in London, as that was where our first date was :)
3. What were your favourite moments from the wedding?
— Saying our vows in the church.
— Getting the photos done together with no lengthy family shots, so we could spend some time alone, and enjoy the rest of the day.
— Getting ready with my hairdresser, I've known him for years, and she really helped myself and bridesmaids chill – he is so funny!
— My husband's speech, which included some kind words for our son, really helping to make him feel included.
4. Tell us all about your wedding dress. What details do you love, how did it make you feel?
It was very classic and classy with a sheen to it that I loved. Plus, I feel the silhouette enhanced my shape.
5. What was the general decor for your big day?
Opulence
6. Do you have any advice for future Bellissima Brides?
— If you have any kids, hire a nanny/ babysitter for the day. It was the best money we ever spent, as it meant our kids could be included in the day, without them moaning or crying through the important moments such as the meal and speeches!
— Whatever happens on the day, ride with it and don’t sweat small stuff. Loads of little things went wrong, but I didn’t focus on them, and it all worked out ok.
— Try to be present on the big day and soak in every moment. Otherwise it will come and go before you know it.
— Have a 'getting ready' scent, possibly from a candle, just something that reminds you of happy wedding memories.
7. Do you have any local suppliers you would like to recommend?
Florist: Delicate Daisy, your neighbour, did the gorgeous flowers in our pics. I went to see loads of florists, and she was really the best one. She listened to what I needed, got my exact idea, and also remembered just what I wanted when she got back in touch with my quote. Her attention to detail was excellent.
Catering: Valentines Cuisine were so fantastic! Very attentive (they came and brought us canapés when getting photos done in a field!) and the service was so high end!
Entertainment: Bongo & Sax trio, they work together often and were fantastic.
Ceremony Venue: St Margaret's Church, Downham, were so lovely and the minister there really put me at ease. They even let us do a modern hymn and have our own singer.
8. How was your Bellissima experience?
Thank you for my gorgeous dress and the fantastic service. Thanks also to Mariana (I think she did 3 fittings to make it a perfect fit!). You all made me feel so special, and every detail was taken care of.
I loved the attention to detail in the shop, even down to the scent being Connock! I even had a Connock candle burning on my wedding day while I was getting ready, as its smell gave me such happy memories of finding my dress.
I also loved the final collection of my dress, the staff were genuinely excited for me and answered all my many questions. You all helped to reassure my last-minute nerves! Your gift of the Prosecco and card at the end too brought a tear to my eye. Such a caring touch, that made me smile when we drank it after the wedding.
