Georgina’s South Farm Wedding in Mori Lee Calathe

Updated: 20 hours ago

A relaxed, thoughtful real wedding in Royston with an emphasis on meaningful moments

Some weddings are about big statements. Others prioritise enjoying each moment as it unfolds. Georgina and Ben’s wedding was very much the latter. From a lockdown-era love story that stood the test of time to a heartfelt proposal in the Peak District, their real wedding at South Farm in Royston focused on enjoying the moments that mattered most.⁣

Our couple's beautiful surroundings ensured that little extra styling was required on their big day. Georgina chose a colour palette that felt personal and thoughtful, pairing her favourite deep teal with gold accents and bright spring florals. Her Mori Lee Calathe gown suited the celebration perfectly. Comfortable, elegant, and finished with subtle sparkle and beautiful back detailing, it was a dress that allowed her to feel completely herself from morning through to the last dance.⁣

Discover what made Georgina and Ben's wedding feel so special and our bride's advice for future Bellissima girls.

How did you two meet?

Ben and I met on Hinge - thank you online dating! It was just a couple of months before we went into the first COVID lockdown, so it wasn't the best timing, but we got through, and here we are today.

How did you get engaged?

We went to the Peak District over the weekend for my birthday. While on a beautiful walk through a valley, we rambled up to a cave, and with the beautiful views around us, Ben went down on one knee and popped the question.

What was your favourite moment(s) from the wedding?

There are too many to choose from! Seeing Ben's reaction to me in my dress walking down the aisle. Watching all of our guests have a wonderful time dancing the night away. The little quiet moments I had with Ben, one just after the ceremony, just the two of us, and then while we were having our couple portraits taken.

Tell us all about your wedding dress!

I felt so beautiful in my dress. I was amazed how comfortable it was, which only added to its beauty; it felt so natural to wear. I absolutely loved the back of my dress, the detail down the side, and the subtle sparkle on the underskirt, which occasionally shone through and offered a little surprise!

What was the general decor for your big day?

We got married at South Farm in Royston, which is such a beautiful venue that didn't need much added to it! Our colour scheme was dark teal (my favourite colour) with gold accents. That can be quite autumnal, so we brought in bright, colourful flowers to bring it back to spring. We added some white paper lanterns to the many trees there, had gold terrariums with candles dotted around, and had floral centrepieces for the wedding breakfast with teal table runners.

Do you have any advice for future Bellissima Brides?

Enjoy those quiet moments with your spouse throughout the day, as it all really does go so quickly and looking back, you'll appreciate those moments you shared together. A great piece of advice that was also given to me was don't feel like you have to go round and see everyone. It's your wedding day and if guests want to see you, then they'll come find you for a chat and a photo.

Do you have any local suppliers you would like to recommend?

I'd absolutely recommend our local suppliers, as they were all incredible.

How was your Bellissima experience?

It was honestly perfect. I felt so special and looked after throughout the whole process, right from the first phone call to book an appointment to picking up my wedding dress once it had been cleaned after the big day. I honestly can't thank you all enough; it's been truly wonderful.
